It is abundantly clear that most of the people commenting on this trailer have never heard of the concept of an unsympathetic protagonist. The point of the movie is not, I don't think, supposed to be female empowerment. You're not supposed to view her as a heroic character, or something to be aspired to. Jesus Christ, expand your horizons, people. Read a couple of books. Learn that there's more than one kind of story to tell. Besides, Disney has always had some of the most fabulous villains in TV and film. I mean, who doesn't love Ursula? Who doesn't love Maleficent? These characters are enduring because, despite being villains, they're also absolute queens. Hell, toss Scar in there, too.
